By Car
From the South (M6 then M56)
Leave the M6 at Junction 19 and take the third roundabout exit, to join the A556 Chester Road, signed Manchester, M’cr Airport. Go along the A556 for 3.7 miles and then join the M56, signed Manchester, M’cr Airport. Go along the M56 for 6 miles, passing Manchester Airport at Junction 5, and move to lane 2 (as at Junction 3 the M56 leaves the main carriageway). Stay in lane 2 to join the A5103, signed City centre. Go along the A5103 Princess Parkway (which then becomes Princess Road) for 5 miles, going under the M60 and passing Southern Cemetery, Hough End Leisure Centre and Alexandra Park, all on the left. Immediately after the Heineken brewery on the right, turn right onto Greenheys Lane. Follow the road around to the left and then around to the right onto Burlington Street. Turn left onto Higher Cambridge Street and go past Trinity CofE High School on the left. Turn right onto Booth Street West and then cross Oxford Road onto Booth Street East. Turn left onto Upper Brook Street and then left onto Grosvenor Street. Go along Grosvenor Street past The Flour & Flagon, on the right, then turn right onto Oxford Road. Turn right at the next junction, just before the Mancunian Way flyover, onto Sidney Street. Go around to the right and King’s House is on the right, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
From the West (M602)
Go along the M602 to the eastern end, and move to lane 2 just before Junction 3, to join the A57 Regent Road, signed M’cr (C). Go along the A57 for 1.1 miles, passing Sainsbury’s, on the left. Move to lane 2 and bend right, going under 2 railway bridges to join the A57(M) Mancunian Way, signed M’cr Airport, Birmingham. Go along the A57(M) for 1.1 miles, going under Chester Road roundabout, over Princess Road and Cambridge Street roundabouts and over Oxford Road. Take the next exit from the A57(M), which is a very tight left fork, signed A34 Wilmslow, Universities. Immediately take another left fork, then turn left onto A34 Brook Street, passing under the Mancunian Way flyover. Turn right almost immediately, signed King’s Church, onto Grosvenor Street. Go along Grosvenor Street past The Flour & Flagon, on the right, then turn right onto Oxford Road. Turn right at the next junction, just before the Mancunian Way flyover, onto Sidney Street. Go around to the right and King’s House is on the right, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
From the West (M62)
Just before Junction 12 on the M62, move to lane 3 to join the M602, signed M’cr city centre, Salford.

From the North West (M6 then M61)
Leave the M6 at Junction 30, signed M61. Go along the M61 to the end. Just before Junction 1, move to lane 3 to take the right fork, to join the M60, signed Ring Road (W & S), M’cr Airport, L’pool. Go along the M60 for 3 miles, move to lane 1 just before Junction 12, and leave the M60 to join the M602, signed M’cr city centre, Salford.

From the East (M62)
There are many routes from this direction but we recommend this one, due to the quality of the roads. Just before Junction 18 on the M62, move to lane 2 to join the M60, signed Ring Road (W), L’pool. Go along the M60 for 7 miles, move to lane 1 just before Junction 12, and leave the M60 to join the M602, signed M’cr city centre, Salford.

Oxford Road is a main bus corridor into the city centre. The closest Oxford Road bus stops to King’s House are these: the Aquatics Centre (heading South away from the city centre) and All Saints’ Park (heading North towards the city centre).
Routes from Piccadilly Gardens, via Oxford Road: 15 & 253 to Flixton. 16, 41 & 263 to Altrincham. 42 & 142 to East Didsbury. 42 & 42A to Stockport and Reddish. 43 & 44 to Manchester Airport. 48 to Northenden. 85 & 86 to Chorlton. 111 & 143 to West Didsbury. 145 to Cheadle Hulme. 157 & X57 to Woodford. 250 & 291 to the Trafford Centre.
Routes from Albert Square, via Oxford Road: 191 & 197 to Stockport.
Routes from Piccadilly Gardens, via Higher Cambridge Street: 99 to Sale. 101, 104 & 109 to Wythenshawe.
The closest Metrolink tram stop to King’s House is St.Peter’s Square which is a 10 minute walk from King’s House.
From St.Peter’s Square, turn onto Oxford Street, heading South away from the city centre. Go past the Palace Theatre on the left (after which the road becomes Oxford Road). Go under the railway bridge and the Mancunian Way flyover. Turn left onto Sidney Street and follow the blue “King’s Church” pedestrian signs around to the right. King’s House is on the right of Sidney Street, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
Manchester Oxford Road Train Station

Manchester Piccadilly Train Station
Leave the station by the Fairfield Street exit (by the taxi rank). The walking route is described on the first page of this document. King’s House is on the right of Sidney Street, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
The alternatives to walking are to get a taxi for around £5, or the 147 Oxford Road Link bus for 80p (www.route147.co.uk). The bus stop is on Fairfield Street and the 147 runs every 10 minutes weekdays from here along Whitworth Street and then Oxford Road. The closest bus stop to King’s House is the Aquatics Centre.
Manchester Victoria Train Station
is on the North of the city centre. It is best to get a Metrolink tram to Piccadilly Gardens and then go by bus, or a tram to Manchester Piccadilly Train Station and then follow the directions above.
